MOTION DESIGN
Motion that carries the argument, not motion that fills the gap.
Custom code
when it is needed
Native Framer
when it is better
Shaders
in production
60fps
as a requirement
The best motion on a product site usually explains a mechanism.
When Doconomy needed to show a country’s emissions trajectory, a static chart would not have carried it, so we built real-time animated data visualizations as Framer components that could also export as video. When Reflow needed to show what its product answers, the hero types out a real operations answer rather than describing the feature.
The judgement call that matters is knowing when custom code earns its cost. Central proved how far Framer’s native animation goes when the design system is right. Xpander needed a fully custom-coded hero because nothing off the shelf carried the idea. Both were the correct answer for their project.
Concept
What the motion has to explain, decided before anyone opens an editor.
Direction
Timing, easing and choreography defined as a system, not per section.
Native build
Framer interactions, scroll effects and variants where they do the job.
Custom code
React components, canvas and shader work when native is not enough.
Performance
Frame rate, paint cost and mobile behaviour treated as design constraints.
Reduced motion
Accessible fallbacks, because a portion of your traffic has them switched on.
Motion work that had to survive production.
OrderX
Shaders, coded components and complex scroll sequences on a multilingual site.
Xpander
A fully custom-coded homepage hero and bespoke scroll storytelling.
Doconomy
Real-time animated data visualizations, exportable as video.
When motion earns its place
When a mechanism, a sequence or a change over time is the thing you are selling, and words are slower than showing it.
When it does not
When the page already reads clearly and the animation is there because the section looked empty.
Decorative motion
Everything fades in on scroll, the page feels busy, and load time goes up for no argument gained.
Structural motion
A small number of deliberate moments that each carry a specific idea, and nothing else moves.
What we build
Scroll storytelling
Sequences that reveal a mechanism as the visitor moves down the page.
Custom-coded animation
React and canvas work for effects the native tools cannot reach.
Framer Shaders
GPU-driven visual systems used as a brand surface rather than a gimmick.
Interface motion
Product UI transitions, state changes and micro-interactions.
Data visualization
Animated charts and diagrams built as live, editable components.
Launch video
Product films and announcement assets built from the same visual system.
